Students Angry Over the Hike of Dining Fees in CUET's Residential Halls

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) students are angry about the mismanagement of residential halls. Even though the fee has increased gradually, the quality of food in the hall has not improved, and the accommodation environment has deteriorated.

After inquiry, it is known that before Coronavirus, the price of monthly meals in the halls of CUET was 1600 taka. It has now increased to Tk 2400. Still, the students get unsalted lentils and a piece of broiler chicken every meal.

Meanwhile, another complaint has surfaced in the halls of female students. Half a month's dining fee has to be paid even if one doesn't eat in the dining hall. Many local students of Chittagong do not stay in the hall regularly. But even if they do not eat, they have to pay half the fee. The female students of the university expressed their anger on social media.

They also said that the boys do not have to pay any money if they do not eat in the dining hall. But in that case, the picture is completely different for girls.
